Revisiting Old Loves and New Loves

Congratulations to "Anita L", the winner of Patricia's giveaway. Thank you to all who participated!

Recently I just released my latest novel, Viper…a journey into paranormal romance. I had written in the paranormal genre earlier in my writing career, but at the time I was told vampires were dead. No one was buying them. So like every writer who wants to succeed, I left behind my love of vampires and headed into another love of mine: romantic suspense. Over the course of several years and handful of novels later, I discovered I also loved bikers. Something about the danger and their bad boy lifestyles that drew me in.

I was visiting good friend Lara Adrian, who had been telling me to get back to the paranormal…write a vampire book. They’re hot now. And of course, she was living proof as her Midnight Breed novels were and still are doing very well.

I resisted because, well…I love bikers and suspense. She discovered this as we stood on the side of a mountain, sightseeing, and I spotted a group of outlaw motorcyclists and commented on their rockers. Lara questioned me on the term, and of course, I broke into a lengthy explanation on how their rockers tell you where they’re from and what club they’re affiliated with. A long story short, my hubby and I were making the long drive home when I got a text from Lara. Two words: Vampire Bikers. My text back: Now that I can write. And Viper was born.

Viper is the first book in the series. I am thrilled it’s doing well, and cannot wait to bring you more vampire bikers in the way of Hawk and Gypsy, up next.

Blurb:
Kane 'Viper' Tepes is one of the oldest living descendants of Vlad III. Vampirism is in his blood. So is being the President of the Sons of Sangue. Those who break motorcycle club rules that protect their coven are dealt swift punishment. No exceptions. Until one pretty little detective has him compromising his beliefs, and endangering his position as head of the MC.

Vampirism had Cara Brahnam turning tail and leaving behind her life in Pleasant. Now, ten years later, she's back as lead detective and wants to see the person responsible for draining the women of Lane County brought to justice, no matter what deal the gang of miscreants has struck with the sheriff. Or the fact that her number one suspect is the sole reason she fled in the first place.

Now someone has targeted Cara as the next victim and Kane must join in the hunt to find the ancient vampire that wants her dead.

Excerpt:

If I’ve killed, Mia Bella, and I have, it’s always justly deserved. Does that shock you?”

“No.”

“Does it frighten you?”

“You scare the living hell out of me, Viper.”

“Why?”

“Not because you’ve taken a life. Not because of what you are. But because I fear one day you’ll be correct and I won’t be able to resist you.”

Kane stepped closer, his hand palming her cheek. “Lord, I hope not,” he whispered and lowered his head, his lips claiming hers.”

Thank you for taking the time to visit me here on the blog. I certainly appreciate you taking time out of your day.
